Greg Junge, founder and president of Junge Construction, is organizing a youth mountain biking team in Polk County, the Tryon Daily Bulletin reports.

Organized through NICA— a national cycling organization with a mission to “Get more kids on bikes”— the team’s inaugural season begins December 2024. It is open to all students in grades 6-12.

When asked if he’s daunted by the prospect of operating a business and a coaching a cycling team, Junge replied, “I am already a cross-country coach at Polk Middle School, so these are familiar waters."

“I’ve been fortunate to be able to expand our company team substantially in the last year,” Junge continued. “This group of all-stars allows me to give back to the community while also delivering the best possible experience to our Clients. It’s a win-win.”

Those interested in participating in the team’s December 2024 season— whether as a student-athlete, coach, or sponsor— are invited to sign-up here: https://bit.ly/PolkCountyNICA.
